Finance manager 
1. The organisation

We are headquartered in Dublin Airport, Ireland with service sites also located in Exeter, United Kingdom and Ashbourne, Co. Meath, Ireland.
Our service capabilities include Auxiliary Power Unit (“APU”) repair and overhaul, aircraft base maintenance, Integrated Drive Generator (“IDG”) and component repair and overhaul and landing gear repair and overhaul.
2. The role
The finance manager is a critical member of a small, cohesive and highly collaborative finance team providing essential finance support services to the wider Dublin Aerospace Group organisation. The role is primarily based in our head office in Hangar 5, Dublin Airport, Ireland. A moderate degree of business travel may be required from time to time.
The finance manager role reports directly to the Finance Director and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the finance team (with members located in Dublin and Exeter) in the ongoing provision by this team of crucial information, analysis and other related services to internal and external stakeholders.
3. Duties & responsibilities
This role represents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and energetic qualified accountant to gain experience across multiple finance and accounting areas in an industrial aviation services setting. Key duties and responsibilities include:
(i) Day-to-day finance team management
• Delegate, manage and review work deliverables of the accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting team members.
• Manage the workloads of the finance team members to ensure key reporting deadlines are satisfied in a manner that also ensures maintenance of a reasonable work / life balance for all finance team members.
• Review quality of work performed by finance team members. Ensure that required work product is delivered on a timely basis.
• Act as the initial point of contact for HR and administrative matters relating to finance team members prior to any onward escalation to the Finance Director and / or HR team.
(ii) Internal financial control & reporting
• Responsible for all aspects of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles including trial balance generation and review, journal entries, preparation of periodic income statement, balance sheet and cashflow statements.
• Ensure all monthly, quarterly, annual account schedules are reconciled and ready for review by the Finance Director at both consolidated group and subsidiary entity levels.
• Analyse and manage working capital, cash flow, and capital expenditure.
• Monitoring performance of financial and operational KPIs versus budget and forecasts.
• Analyse key variances and provide findings to the Finance Director and other senior management team members for review.
• Prepare financial papers for inclusion in monthly and quarterly Board reports.
(iii) Internal processes
• Review, implement and enhance internal controls and processes on an ongoing basis thereby creating a continuous improvement culture within the business.
• Support the Finance Director in the delivery of the annual budgeting and re-forecasting processes including collaboration and partnering with the various functions across the company to build and complete associated templates and schedules.
• Review and document the current accounting process.
• Generally support and manage ongoing activities to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and current tax legislation.
• Liaise with senior management and provide financial support where applicable.
(iv) Other duties
• Ad-hoc financial analysis of ongoing financial projects
• Facilitate annual external audits, preparation of year end audit files and act as main point of contact with the company’s external auditors.
• Key point of contact for insurance queries and claims and managing relationship with insurers
• Other duties as directed from time to time by the Finance Director.
4. Candidate requirements
• Qualified accountant with two plus years of experience in accounting.
• Strong technical financial knowledge
• Experience in managing direct reports.
• Ability to analyse and present numerical data in tables, spreadsheets, and forms.
• Proficiency in MS-Excel required.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, particularly with financial statement and profitability analysis.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability and confidence to effectively interact with colleagues at various levels within the organisation.
• Ambition and interest in continuous improvement and new challenges.
