Embark on Your Engineering Journey with Dublin Aerospace: Dublin Aerospace Opens Applications for its 2024 Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship

Dublin Aerospace, the aircraft maintenance company headquartered in Dublin Airport, today opens its applications for its highly anticipated Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship.

 

This year’s program will welcome 15 new apprentices to the growing Dublin Aerospace team. With a blended approach of classroom and hands-on experience, those who successfully complete the apprenticeship will be considered for full-time positions at Dublin Aerospace. 

 

With a combination of Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeships for Aircraft Overhaul in the Dublin Aerospace Hangars and also opportunity within Mechanical Automation, candidates have until 14th April, 2024 to submit their applications.

Aircraft Engineer Apprenticeship Program

  • The Aircraft Engineer Apprenticeship Program is a four-year, paid apprenticeship during which the candidates spend a total of 75 weeks in Aviation College (Shannon and Dublin) and the remaining time in On-the-Job Training (OJT) in Dublin Aerospace’s facilities.
  • After two years apprentices will achieve EASA Category A Aircraft Mechanic and after four years the successful candidates are designated as EASA Category B Aircraft Engineers. There are two qualification streams available; Avionics and Airframe/Engine.
  • The apprentices will carry out maintenance and repair of aircraft systems/components while learning to use specialised equipment in a workshop environment.
  • This work is diverse and highly regulated, and is recognised both nationally and internationally.

With applications open from today, 8th March, 2024, the application deadline is 14th April, 2024

 

 

Entry Requirements:

 

  • Candidates must be over 18 years of age on September 31st 2024.
  • Candidates must be Irish, EU or UK citizens. Dublin Aerospace do not offer sponsorship or visas for those living outside of the EU.
  • Must have completed the Leaving Certificate, or equivalent examinations, or be currently completing it in 2024.
  • You should have achieved or expect to achieve, a minimum of H5 or O4 in Leaving Certificate Mathematics and English (As per the previous grading system, a minimum of Grade D in Higher Level or Grade C in Lower Level Mathematics and English).
  • Must pass a colour vision test, organised by Dublin Aerospace.
  • Must pass airport security vetting.
